When one hears “best coffee in Pretoria” and “we serve breakfast all day”, you immediately have the feeling that you are winning at life. While strolling through the modern new centre of Olympus Village in Pretoria East, we have come across just such a haven. A humble Vovo Telo with wide open doors and welcoming breakfast aromas. We simply had to investigate further, and took our business out and about for yet another weekly hot #work spot!

To make life easier, as BluMallow does, we have broken down our epic-outing into 5 simple ratings.

Location: 4/5
In the vibey heart of Pretoria East, while still being part of the beautiful surrounding suburban area, this Vovo Telo really has the best of both worlds. Close enough to the hustle and bustle of corporate Pretoria, while still remaining intimate and noise-free, its a perfect combination for stress-free productivity. The center is easy to locate and the gorgeous outside area of white umbrellas against fresh greenery makes for a stand out coffee spot.

Wifi: 5/5
As many South Africans would say “choof chaf!” which simply put is chop chop or super-quick. Easy to login and Bob’s your uncle, you’re on your way to running your business offsite. We had no problems uploading and downloading and browsing the internet was a breeze. What more could you want?

Service: 5/5
Only to be rivaled by their speedy wifi, the service was excellent and friendly. The coffee and breakfast were served steaming hot and with gusto! The waiters have a fantastic knack for knowing when you may need a little something more before you even do, while still leaving you to peacefully go about your work.

Menu: 5/5
Yumo! You can’t go wrong with breakfast no matter what time of day it is, we opted for poached eggs with coriander aioli. What a fantastic combo and the perfect portion size. Think 2 perfectly poached eggs, crispy gypsy ham on toasted ciabatta, with a flavour-packed spread of coriander aioli and roasted tomatoes – tangy and decadent. Our only suggestion would be more of that delicious aioli!

The best coffee in town is an excellent assumption indeed, as the coffee was full bodied with a perfectly slight bitterness. We simply had to order a second cup! The day menu caters for everything from breakfast to light as well as hearty lunches, and we cannot wait to go back to investigate further…especially the ‘fabulous baker boys bunny chow’, we’ve got our eye on you!

Vibe: 4/5
The vibe is softly ambient, with ladies catching up over brunch, the local seasoned crowd popping in for the exceptional coffee and daily promotion, and the occasional jogger. There is plenty of place for prams should little ones need to tag along, and loads of calming quiet space for the avid entrepreneur as well. The smell is of delicious freshly baked breads, roasting coffee and now and then a waft of salty bacon rolling past to the table next to you. Sitting inside and out has a wonderful eurpoean quality, from the exterior humble coastal ambiance to the subtly afro-casablanca feel of the inside area. Warm lighting, large, open sliding doors and an exciting wooden coffee bar, opening directly onto bar stools sitting along the walk way. This Vovo Telo has a vast array of seating areas to suit any meeting, casual or business.
